Slurry Pump Wear Parts — Hard Metal, Rubber, Polyurethane and Ceramic
Atlas Pumps Australia stocks a full range of slurry pump wear parts for INDUX pump frames and dimensionally compatible equivalents. Parts are held at our Henderson WA facility for same-week supply to Perth operations and fast dispatch to regional and remote mine sites. Selecting the right wear part material for your slurry conditions is the single biggest factor in wear life between shutdowns.
High Performance Slurry Pumps
Designed for demanding industries, our pumps are high performance, durable and cost-effective.
Comprehensive Spare Parts Supply
Maintaining a full range of spares, ensuring minimal downtime with readily available stock.
Expert Guidance
Tailored advice to help you select the best slurry pumping solution for performance and efficiency.

Wet End Wear Parts
The impeller is the highest-wear component in most slurry pump circuits. Correct impeller selection determines pump efficiency and how long you run before the next wet end rebuild.
- High-chrome alloy: For high-abrasion slurry — iron ore tailings, mill discharge, cyclone feed, ash removal
- Rubber: For moderate-abrasion, acidic or corrosive slurry — gold leach, copper leach, coal
- Polyurethane: For lower-velocity, lower-abrasion circuits where flexibility reduces fatigue wear
Volute liners protect the casing from direct slurry contact and define the pump’s flow path. Material should match the impeller — mismatching hard metal with rubber on the same wet end accelerates wear on the softer component.
- Available in hard metal, rubber and polyurethane
Protect the suction-side and drive-side faces of the wet end. High wear exposure at the throatbush interface — check clearances at each inspection.
Controls the running clearance between the impeller front shroud and the liner. A worn throatbush reduces pump efficiency and increases recirculation before any visible damage is apparent. Regular clearance checks and throatbush replacement maintain pump performance between major rebuilds. The WXA(R) model features an adjustable throatbush — clearance can be reset without shutdown.
Secondary shaft sealing using centrifugal force — reduces dynamic pressure at the gland and extends packing life. Hard metal and rubber options available. Expeller ring condition should be checked at every gland service.
Back liner protection for high abrasion duty on the drive-side face of the wet end. Available in hard metal and rubber. Replace when thickness falls to 50% of new to maintain casing protection.
Vertical Pump Wear Parts
For VC series cantilever sump pumps, Atlas stocks the full internal wear part set:
- Column section liners
- Coping liners
- Feed chamber liners
- Upper, middle and lower cone liners
- Vortex finders
- Cycle liners
- Spigots
- Elbows
Shaft Sleeves (Wear Item)
Shaft sleeves protect the pump shaft from slurry contact and gland wear. Standard carbon steel is the base option. Ceramic-coated and tungsten-carbide-coated sleeves are available for corrosive slurry service — both significantly extend sleeve life where gland flush water quality is poor or acidic slurry contacts the sleeve bore.
Material Selection Reference
Slurry / application
Recommended wet end material
Notes
Iron ore tailings (neutral pH)
High-chrome alloy
Highest wear resistance in coarse, neutral abrasives
Gold / copper leach (acidic, pH <5)
Rubber
Hard metal corrodes rapidly below pH 5
Coal slurry
Rubber
Fine coal is softer — rubber absorbs impact rather than abrades
SAG / ball mill discharge (coarse)
High-chrome alloy
Coarse, heavy particles favour hard metal impeller and liner
Low-velocity transfer (fine slurry)
Polyurethane
Best in low-velocity, moderate-density duty where fatigue is the wear mode
Caustic (alumina red mud)
Rubber or confirm with team
Caustic conditions damage hard metal — pH and temperature confirmation required
OEM Compatibility
INDUX wear parts are dimensionally compatible with equivalent pump frames from a number of leading OEM manufacturers. If you are sourcing replacement wear parts for an existing non-INDUX pump, send us the pump model number and size designation. We will confirm compatibility and availability.
