Heavy Duty Slurry Pumps for Mining, Mill Circuit and Tailings Applications
The INDUX slurry pump range is built for high-abrasion, high-density duty in Australian mining and mineral processing. Pumps are available in hard metal and rubber-lined wet end configurations across standard duty, high-head, mill circuit, froth and dredge variants. All wet end parts are interchangeable within equivalent INDUX pump frames.

Expert Guidance
Tailored advice to help you select the best slurry pumping solution for performance and efficiency.

Heavy Duty Horizontal Slurry Pumps
Single-stage, overhung shaft centrifugal pump for mill discharge, tailings delivery and ash removal. Wet end material options: high-chrome alloy, rubber or polyurethane. Extra-thick liner sections at critical wear points extend wear life between shutdowns. The WXA(R) variant includes an adjustable throatbush wear plate — adjustable during operation, no shutdown required.
- Typical applications: Iron ore mill discharge, copper tailings, coal ash removal, FGD service
- Available in: Hard metal (R) and rubber-lined variants
Engineered for the highest abrasion index applications in mill circuit service. Wider impeller channels and heavier wet end sections handle coarser, denser slurry that would accelerate wear in a standard duty pump.
- Typical applications: SAG mill discharge, ball mill discharge, cyclone feed
Heavy duty horizontal slurry pump for general mining and industrial slurry transfer where abrasion resistance is the primary requirement.
- Typical applications: Tailings transfer, process slurry pumping, plant sumps
Optimised for lower-head, higher-flow applications where a standard heavy duty pump delivers more head than the circuit requires.
High Head Slurry Pumps
For applications requiring higher discharge pressure than the standard WX series delivers — long-distance tailings lines, elevated discharge points and high-pressure cyclone feed circuits.
- Typical applications: Long-distance tailings disposal, high-pressure cyclone feed
Severe duty high-head variant for the most demanding high-pressure applications in mill circuit and tailings service.
Medium abrasion, high-head duty where a full severe duty pump is heavier than the circuit requires.
Designed for long-distance slurry pipeline applications where sustained high-head performance is required over extended runs.
Froth and Specialty Pumps
Froth pumps handle slurry with entrained air without air-locking. A standard slurry pump cannot operate reliably in flotation circuits. The WXF, WLF and WAF series are built specifically for froth transfer where slurry contains 20–50% air by volume.
- Typical applications: Copper and nickel flotation circuits, froth transfer, concentrate feed
Wide internal passages and heavy-section casings for large-solids and dredge applications where particle size would block or rapidly erode a standard slurry pump. Available in high-head (WGH) configuration.
- Typical applications: Sand and gravel dredging, coarse feed pumping, marine dredge circuits
For moderate-abrasion slurry service where a full heavy duty pump is over-specified.
Designed for flue gas desulfurization and wastewater slurry service in power and industrial plants.
Sump Pumps
Vertical cantilever design — no submerged bearing, no seal in the pump. Hard metal or rubber-lined wet ends. VCS is single-casing for shallower sumps; VCH is the high-head vertical variant.
- Typical applications: Mill floor sumps, process pit drainage, transfer sump service
Wet End Material Selection
Slurry type
Recommended material
Iron ore tailings (neutral pH)
High-chrome alloy
Best wear life in coarse, neutral abrasives
Gold or copper leach (acidic)
Rubber-lined
Rubber resists corrosion; hard metal corrodes under low pH
Coal slurry
Rubber-lined
Rubber performs well in fine coal slurry applications
Alumina red mud
High-chrome alloy or rubber
Confirm pH — caustic conditions may require rubber
Flotation froth (high air)
Rubber-lined froth pump
Requires froth pump design — standard pumps not suitable
Cyclone feed (coarse, abrasive)
High-chrome alloy
Coarse particle abrasion favours hard metal
